Voter Photo ID Event August 22nd and 23rd

SUFFOLK, VA (August 9. 2016) The City of Suffolk, Office of the General Registrar and Electoral Board will be conducting a mobile photo identification opportunity at Suffolk City Hall, located at 442 West Washington Street, on August 22nd and 23rd , from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The photos are free of charge and provide an acceptable form of identification for voting purposes.

In addition, the Imagecast Evolution Optical Scan Voting Machine will be on display for demonstration purposes.

As previously advised, the November 8, 2016 General Election will be utilizing new polling sites for six precincts:

• Bennett’s Creek Precinct: Nansemond River Baptist Church (formerly Creekside Elementary School)
• Hillpoint Precinct: Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church (formerly Hillpoint Elementary School)
• Holland Precinct: Holland Community House (formerly Holland Fire Station)
• Lakeside Precinct: Suffolk Presbyterian Church (formerly Morgan Memorial Library)
• Nansemond River Precinct: Canaan Baptist Church (formerly Nansemond River High School)
• Whaleyville Precinct: Whaleyville Recreation Center (formerly Whaleyville Community Center)

The City of Suffolk also posted this clarification concerning the Whaleyville Community Center

SUFFOLK, VA (August 9. 2016) The City of Suffolk, Office of the General Registrar and Electoral Board would like to make the following clarification related to the new polling site in the Whaleyville Precinct. The name of the new polling site facility at 132 Robertson Street is the Whaleyville Community Center, the site of the former Robertson Elementary School. The name of the former polling site was also previously known as the Whaleyville Community Center, located at 6235 Whaleyville Boulevard, and is now referred to as the Whaleyville Annex.
