Support Medicaid Expansion with Fellow Activists on Wednesday

On Wednesday, January 30th, Activists will meet at Panera Bread on N Main St, Suffolk to write letters to the editor asking Delegate Chris Jones– whose vote will be one of the most influential in the Medicaid debate– to support expanding Medicaid in Virginia.

If you’ve never written a letter to the editor before, don’t worry–  experienced writers will be there to lend a hand!

We cannot afford to allow nearly half a million Virginians to go uninsured. Obamacare allows Virginia to provide health coverage for more than 400,000 Virginians by expanding Medicaid coverage. A recent study says expanding Medicaid would produce over two billion dollars for Virginia and create 30,000 new jobs.

But Gov. McDonnell opposes the program.  That’s not just bad politics. It is bad medicine for all Virginians.

With your help we can make the state legislature change course, and fulfill the promise of care for Virginia.

Too many Virginians lack adequate health coverage. It does not cost us any extra to make sure they are well-cared for!
