Who are the Members of the SDC?
We are everyday Americans who love our city, our commonwealth, our country, and our American way of life. Most of us are not politicians. We’re just people who realized the importance of encouraging our fellow citizens to become involved in the political process at all levels of government.
What does the SDC do?
We meet monthly to discuss our progress and to define ways to support the objectives of the Democratic Party of Virginia.
We knock on doors, make phone calls, write letters and engage in political activities to support Democratic candidates and to encourage appropriate action on legislative issues.
We organize or assist in voter registration and outreach events to encourage all citizens of Suffolk, Virginia to become part of the political process.
We sponsor the Annual Suffolk Community Hero’s Luncheon, a event honoring outstanding contributions to our community by its citizens.
We participate in regional events such as at the Suffolk Peanut Fest to help spread the work about our committee and about Democratic candidates and issues.
