ERA Ratification Postcard Party!

From United Citizen Power: Southside Chapter

Join us for an ERA Ratification Postcard party!

Postcards are a quick, visual way to communicate effectively with lawmakers. Let’s thank representatives who have supported ERA legislation in the past for their votes. And let’s craft persuasive messages to reach legislators who still need convincing to support constitutional equality.

Date: Thursday, December 13, Time: 6:30 pm
Place: Lisa’s Home @ 3320 Nansemond River Dr, Suffolk (right behind Nansemond River High)

Support the ERA Vote in Suffolk this Wednesday

We need as many Suffolk residents as possible (women and men) to attend the December 5th Suffolk City Council meeting to support putting a vote for the Equal Rights Amendment on the agenda for the December 19th City Council meeting.

This vote will be Suffolk’s voice in the fight to get Virginia to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

The meeting is at 7:00 pm in the City Council chamber at 442 West Washington Street.

Please refer people to so they can sign the petition and review talking points and action steps.

Chris Jones’s vote will be important but so far he has not voiced his support for the amendment.

The Speaker of the House James Howell, and Tommy Normant are fighting against Virginia ratifying this amendment.  We need to contact them and let them know where we stand.

Thanks and we hope to see you at 442 West Washington Street Wednesday at 7pm
