The Carisbrooke Community Association will hold a forum with Rebecca Colaw and Emily Brewer on Sunday, September 24th at 2 pm. The forum will be at the common area at 11 Nelson Maine.

The Morgan Memorial Library in Downtown Suffolk will be viewing the documentary, GerryRIGGED: Turning Democracy on its Head, which explores the issue of gerrymandering and its impact on voting districts in Virginia. Following the screening a representative from OneVirginia2021 will answer questions about the film and the work the group does to advocate for redistricting reform. The Suffolk Democratic Committee will be at Taste of Suffolk again this year. Enjoy the entertainment, attractions, and the samples of great food that our restaurants in Suffolk have to offer. And while you’re there, look for us to get information about voting, voting rights, issues, and candidates in the upcoming elections. We’d love to see you.
The event will be in Downtown Suffolk from 11:00 until 5:00 on Saturday, September 9th.

- Although the event starts at 11, set up time is from 7:30 to 10:00. You can still help out after 10 but your vehicle has to be out of the event are by then. You should plan to move your vehicle by 9:45.
- Since Main Street will be closed, follow detours to the vendors’ area on Bank Street.
- Cars can reenter at 5:15 for break-down. Breakdown should be done by 6:45 as the street will reopen at 7:00.

The town hall will provide an update on pending issues including the federal budget, health care, and legislation already enacted by Congress and the impact of these policies on Virginians and their families. This will be an opportunity for residents of the 3rd congressional district to provide comments and ask questions.
